DDA Central Region conducts Inspections of Raw Milk Handling Premises in Makindye and Lubaga Divisions

 

In Quarter 4 of FY 2023-24, Dairy Development Authority (DDA) Central Region conducted routine inspections of raw milk handling premises in Makindye and Lubaga Divisions. The inspections aimed to assess compliance with dairy standards and regulations, ensure the quality and safety of milk, and register emerging dairy stakeholders.

 

A total of 112 premises and equipment, including coolers and freezers, were inspected, and existing as well emerging raw milk outlets were registered. During the exercise, 134 milk samples were tested to evaluate quality and safety. Non-tax revenue was also collected during the registration process. In addition, uncollected certificates of registration were also distributed. 

 

The inspection covered key areas in Makindye East, including Namuwongo, Katongore, Bukasa, Kibuli, Lukuli, Nsambya, Nsambya Kirombe, Nsambya Central, and Makindye I, ensuring adherence to dairy standards across the division. In Lubaga North, inspections were conducted in Kasubi, Lugaaju, Kawaala, Lugala, Munaku, Lubya, Namungoona, Kitunzi, Lungujja, Nabulagala, and Masanafu. Meanwhile, in Lubaga South, areas such as Nateete, Mutundwe, Kilinyabigo, Nalukolongo, Busega, Lungujja, Ndeeba, and Kaboyo were inspected.
