Dairy Development Authority is a Semi-Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries. Its mandate is to develop and regulate the sector. It is established under the Dairy Industry Act, 1998 and its objectives are to provide proper coordination and efficient implementation of all Government policies that are designed to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency in the production of milk in Uganda by promoting production and competition in the dairy industry and monitoring the market for milk and dairy products.

In order to effectively fulfill the mandate, the Authority is seeking for applications from qualified persons who are accomplished to take up the under-listed positions:

1) Principal Dairy Development Officer (5 positions)
Reporting to Regional Manager, the successful candidate duty station shall be DDA Regional Office and shall be required to perform the following duties;
1) Conduct surveys and studies to assess and establish technological options in the milk value chain and recommend appropriate interventions.
2) Initiate, develop and design appropriate programmes aimed at improving dairy husbandry practices and farm business development.
3) Conduct trainings that are aimed at increased milk production, productivity and support disease control interventions within the region.
4) Maintain systems to address consumer/farmers complaints and concerns regarding adherence to dairy regulations.
5) To coordinate and support relevant actors in the region to enhance development in the dairy industry.
6) Support the development and implementation strategies and programmes for increasing milk production & productivity, marketing, consumption of milk and milk products.
7) Support the collection of data relating to the dairy industry and registration of dairy farms in the region.
8) Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the dairy interventions in the region.
9) Support and strengthen dairy stakeholder’s organizations within the region.
10) Supervise and mentor the Senior Dairy Development Officer.
11) Perform any duties as assigned by the supervisor.
 Required Qualifications and experience
1) Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or Honours degree in Animal Production, Technology & Management
2) Master’s degree in a related field is a must.
3) At least six (6) years of working experience of which three (3) years must be at senior level.

2. Principal Dairy Inspector (1 position)
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the successful candidate duty station shall be at the DDA Regional Office and shall be required to perform the following duties;
1) Support the implementation of government policies governing milk production, processing, marketing and consumption of milk and milk products.
2) Conduct trainings that is aimed at increasing compliance to milk processing, value addition and marketing.
3) Ensure dairy farms, businesses, milk and milk products within the region comply with the set standards and regulations.
4) Support relevant actors in the region to enhance compliance to set dairy standards and regulations.
5) Enforce dairy regulations to safe guard the public health and well-being of the consumers.
6) Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and report on milk quality and safety interventions in the region.
7) Assemble statistical data relating to quality and safety interventions and recommend registration of dairy businesses in the region.
8) Participate in the development of strategies and interventions to strengthen dairy stakeholders’ organizations within the region.
9) Supervise and Mentor the Senior Dairy Inspectors.
10) Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
 Required Qualifications and experience
1) Honours degree in Dairy Science & Technology or Honours degree in Food Science and Technology or any relevant qualifications from a recognized University.
2) Master’s degree in a related field is a must.
3) At least six (6) years of working experience of which three (3) years are at senior level.

3) Dairy Development Officer (2)
 Reporting to Senior Dairy Development Officer, the successful candidate duty station shall be at the DDA Regional Office and shall be required to perform the following duties;
1) Implement appropriate programmes aimed at improving dairy husbandry practices and farm business development.
2) Conduct trainings that are aimed at increased milk production, productivity and support disease control interventions within the region.
3) Implement strategies and programmes for increasing milk production & productivity, marketing, consumption of milk and milk products.
4) Support and collect data related to the dairy industry in the region.
5) Inspect and recommend for registration of dairy farms in the region.
6) Support relevant actors in the region to enhance development in the dairy industry.
7) Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the dairy interventions in the region.
8) Support the formation and strengthening of dairy stakeholder’s organizations within the region.
9) Any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications and experience
1) Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or Honours Degree in Animal Production, Technology & Management or any other relevant Honors degree from a recognized University.
2) Post Graduate qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.
3) At least two (2) years of working relevant experience.

4) Internal Auditor (One Position)
1) Ensuring financial and other transactions of the authority comply with established policies, procedures and principles.
2) Receiving of accounting information and returns from all stakeholders and preparation of verified reports within specified and demanding deadlines.
3) Carrying out reviews to ascertain conformity with the internal controls to prevent fraud, loss, or waste of authority’s funds or assets.
4) Assist in planning and coordinating the implementation of audit assignments and preparation of Audit reports for review by the supervisor.
5) Auditing stocks movement of all commodities and supplies to ensure compliance with authority policies
6) Ensuring that all records and ledger accounts are checked and certified.
7) Checking and verifying that, all transactions are properly documented and have adequate, accurate, reliable underlying evidence.
8) Carrying out regular field visits, surprise audits and spot checks in all areas of the authority operations (stocks, supplies and cash) to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
9) Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
     Required Qualifications and experience
1) Honor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting), Honor’s degree in Science Accounting & Finance.
2) Honor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from a recognized University.
3) Level II of professional training in CPA, ACCA is an added Advantage.
4) Post Graduate Qualification in a relevant field is added advantage
5) At least two (2) - years of relevant Audit experience in a reputable Organization.
